How we make money

MTD Totals makes money in two ways.

• The MTD Totals tool. Sorting your transactions is free. Unlocking every total and the exports costs £9, once.
• Affiliate links in our guides. Some links to software and business accounts are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the provider may pay us a fee. You pay the same price either way.

What that means for our guides

• We list every product a reader is likely to consider, including ones that pay us nothing.
• We order comparisons by price and fit, not by what a provider pays us. No provider can pay to be included or ranked.
• We take prices from each provider's own pricing page and show the date we checked.
• Where MTD Totals itself is relevant, we say so, and we're clear that it is not HMRC-recognised software and does not submit to HMRC.
